In other words, this entire article is useless.

Many of the 15,000 could be college students or young people who are not tied down. The data in the article should not be presented as though 15,000 families who owned homes up and sold them on a whim because they could telework from North Dakota.

I agree. The problem isn't just crime. It's the miserable people who live all over this city. It's full of rude, power-hungry nerds who who put themselves ahead of everybody--and this is intergenerational. It will never change. So wish I was one of those 15000.

Which taxes? Taxes here are the lowest in the region. Stay in the exurbs. We don't want you anyway.

There are many reasons people would want to escape DC. The pandemic probably pushed those who had means to escape. Is this going to be the new white flight (or wealth flight these days)?

Sweetie, this is not 1994 anymore. Houses are still selling like hotcakes. My friends who moved out just went to their beach houses to ride out the pandemic. They still live in DC. We are thinking about renting a house in FL for Jan thru March. We will change our address, but we will not "move" out of DC.

I haven't seen an open air drug market in years! Where in the hell do you live? Where does DPW not pick up trash? Give me a break.

Ah yes, you must be one of those partaking in the psychedelics! Or living under a rock. Go walk around Columbia Heights, downtown, Anywhere really. It is a free for all.

Has any group considered mounting a repeal of the marijuana initiative? it's a fail

+1000 I thought there was some sort of law/restrictions on when/how/where it can be used legally. It's not being enforced and this city stinks like skunk!!!! I hate it! Having car windows down or house windows open just gets horrible smell and smoke everywhere. Why is this allowed? It was a complete fail and now it seems like we will never be able to get that genie back in the bottle.

When home property values start dropping then something’s amiss. Until that happens, nothing to worry about.
