If this was in reaction to something that was going on right now, or very recently, he would have been put on leave, he would not have been fired. HR stuff takes a long time to play out in government - especially for a tenured principal. This is more likely the final stage of a process that began a while ago. I doubt this is COVID related at all - and certainly not due to immediate safety concerns.
Post cites several sources that it was related to speaking out about safety.
And if DCPS doesn’t care about lawsuit settlements, they can fire whoever they want, with a plan to settle for cash instead of paying out a severance.

He is on leave - not fired

Or are we ready to change the narrative a bit & say that maybe folks like the WTU and this principal are actually looking out for your kids?
That's been obvious to me for a long time. I trust my kids teachers and usually their principals.

My guess, a pissing contest and Trogisgh lost.
Didn’t someone post on this board that ferebee is a sww parent?
hmmm.
He is.
Anonymous wrote:Given the urgency of removing him - the only reason should he that there would be harm to children. Given that no one is in the buildings - I can not see the need for DCPS to remove him in this manner and place him on leave

So apparently DCPS has just fired the principal at SWW and SWWFS and some teachers are telling me they think it is because he publicly and openly in front of his staff said that he wouldn't reopen the schools unless it is safe. I see how DCPS is going to try and play this. 😡
That would be record-breaking speed for an HR action. Can't imagine there is truth to it.
