It seems everything is a issue or need to be fought these days.... at this point I just roll my eyes when I see some of this crap, like someone going on and on about how Paw Patrol (the children's cartoon) is misogynist and a bunch of other people going like "oh, I have never thought about it, but this is so true!"
And regarding BLM, I cannot understand why some people seem so shocked suddenly - did they live in la la land and didn't know police brutality is a thing in this country, specially towards black and, recently, latinos?
Politics: this has been a crappy year and I have already prepared myself that trump will be re-elected. I will still vote of course, but it is clear to me that this is the country we are living in - a majority of obnoxious, racists, ignorant and plain stupid people in one hand, and a bunch of woke and purists - also obnoxious, ignorant and plain stupid in the other hand that will not vote for Biden because he is not their choice. They apparantly never heard of the word compromise of the expression "the lesser of two evils."
Stuff like that drives me crazy. And those who act like that don't understand how damaging it all is for people to get burned out on the "woke stuff". I think my favorite experience (sarcastic) was when someone was telling me that a certain pattern on a sweater was cultural appropriation. That is part of my culture and I said something the lines of "well no a lot of us aren't bothered by things like that. It is really things like X and Y that are offensive" And that person that tried to argue that I was wrong and that it was offensive. I told her that she was being more offensive than the sweater but that just led her to dig deeper into her stance. It was beyond ridiculous.
