You were wrong in so many ways, OP, and you're even lying to us now about your "smallish" party. No one has a small socially distanced event and invites some guy from many years ago who 1) isn't a close friend/her spouse doesn't even know, and 2) she banged. So, you actually had a big party but you're not being truthful, just like you were untruthful with you DH. Seems like a trend for you.

Totally. And also tell him that your ex boyfriend took the rear entrance so it's not like the front entrance was sullied. Then, anytime your ex boyfriend is over for a socially distanced party or otherwise, make sure that he enters and exits through the back door. Your husband will see that this is no biggie.
