It's tough to work out etiquette right now. Different families have different risk tolerances, and it is awkward to ask about rules and expectations. We've been trying to "feel people out," but I imagine sometimes people misread the signals.
I suspect most people would be perfectly willing to adhere to whatever rules you want to set- you just need to be explicit about them.

Yes, you can keep people out of your house. We've had people over a few times and make sure they know there is a sanitized bathroom available for use -- few have taken us up on the offer. A couple of times, the kids wanted to go inside to play and we told them no. They whined. Oh well.

Unfortunately you are right, people have become very lax in the last few weeks. I think people want to savor the last of warm weather, which is understandable. I see tons of kids and adults at playgrounds without masks. I think we are a couple weeks away from seeing a spike in cases, just look at Europe, they have a huge resurgence of the virus now. I guess this means we will be stuck homeschooling till next year.

Proud? How about instead, you teach him nicely to say, "no thank you, I'm still social distancing." Or something reasonable and rational like that? Neighborhood friends have been the lifeblood for my now teenagers throughout their lives--not just during the pandemic. I hope your five year old hasn't now cut off that opportunity. Please stop teaching children to judge and yell at others.
