I rowed on the Charles in college. There was a lot of oddly gleeful talk about annual body counts of homeless people found in the Charles vs. the Hudson. The Hudson is not a...picturesque...river.

It's pretty hideous for any child but especially egregious for a girl. I'm a NYC native and if I saw this name I would 100% think the parents had no higher than a 10th grade education. It's super tacky.

I'm a teacher. This is one of the few names that has a really bad association for me now. Moms of Delaneys are difficult people.

My son is named Hudson and I always felt like it had a masculine feel. I'm so surprised to hear of all these girls named that. But if it works for you that's great!

I love when the thread detours like this. There's a Gather-esque mom at my library with a Delaney and I believe the older son is Dayson or Daison or Dacen.
