This. We started at 4.5 months at my pediatrician's encouragement. 6 out of 8 allergens including peanuts done by 6 months. At 8 months, she's had over 70 different foods including... a taste of ice cream.
I've been kind of shocked parents don't know you are supposed to be doing this. New research backs it up.

A few months later we found out she has an egg allergy so I felt guilty about not thinking through giving her the lick of ice cream, but thankfully it didn’t cause a reaction.
