I like them both and I like Sadie as a nn.

HOWEVER, if you name her Isadora be prepared that many, many people will call her Izzy unless you tell everyone that her nickname is Sadie and only Sadie (and even then, people will be like "well this is my nickname for her!"). So if you don't like Izzy, just don't pick this name.

Take it from a mom who gave her daughter a name of a similar length with a similarly non-intuitive nickname, and everyone (including me) now calls her by a nickname that is just [first syllable of name]+y. Luckily I don't hate this nickname, but my planned nickname for her just didn't take so it's funny how much time I spent thinking on it. Lesson learned!

Isadora seems very pretentious to me. Like a stage name. Isdadora Duncan.

Agree, no to Sadie. One, it's a nickname for Sarah and a real stretch for Isadora. Two, it's a dog name now, the Sarah's aren't even doing it.

I do like Isadora but I like Izzy or Isa as a nickname. If you even have to travel a nickname. I don't have an obvious one and it's fine.

I like Naomi better.

Isadora is cute, but Sadie feels like such a wrong choice for a nickname that I'm voting for Naomi. I like Dora, Dori, or Izzy.

There’s never a consensus unless it’s on something universally agreed to be terrible. It’s fine - lots of people hate every name but your kid will be fine if you choose something that’s not insane. Neither Isadora nor Naomi are insane.

Neither is great. Prefer Dorie for a nickname.

I like both but wanted to point out, in case it will bother you, that a friend of mine named Naomi (an adult) says that many people mispronounce her name, saying nigh-OH-mee instead of her preferred nay-OH-mee.

Isidora I like, Isadora seems spelled wrong to me. I also like Theodora. But, I am Orthodox so...

Not OP but sigh. This is why I can’t select my baby’s name - every name either sounds boring or I can think of some terrible NN for it. Simone is another one. It’s so hard but I guess in the end they’ll live with whatever name and its shortcomings

Not OP but sigh. This is why I can’t select my baby’s name - every name either sounds boring or I can think of some terrible NN for it. Simone is another one. It’s so hard but I guess in the end they’ll live with whatever name and its shortcomings

Sadie is fine. I hate the name Isadora. If Naomi and Isadora were the only two names I could pick, I would pick Naomi 1 million times over Isadora.
