OP just a tip - call a Child Life Specialist so you can duck out to grab something to eat. There is nothing walkable around there, so get Ubereats/Doordash to deliver you something better than cafeteria food. If you want to take a walk if your DH relieves you, you could stroll over to the Howard campus and then over to Meridian Hill park.

PP 9:16 here. That is what I was eluding to, I know that Children's has treated this if that is what it is so they are off to the right place.

Hugs, OP. I know of a few kids who had staph infections settle into their joints, which affected their ability to walk temporarily. Kids are totally and completely fine now, after about a week in the hospital and PT.

Hang in there--you'll be in wonderful hands at Children's.

Could also be the initial portion of Juvenile Rheumatoid arthritis which is also very treatable. Sending you all the good vibes OP

Hugs-great that he is going to Children's. Ask/demand every test out there to get to the bottom of it. My son years back had a weird strep infection where he was limping. His initial strep test was negative. After the second part of the test came back it was positive and he was on antibiotics and the limp went away. Don't let yourself go to scary places but again..ask for everything.

Hang in there, OP, and please be careful in the hospital setting, as this is where the risk of catching something (not just Covid) is greatest. Mask on for you and your child, wash hands diligently, try not to touch anything.

My first thought is Lupus . Or Meningitis.

Are they running any auto-immune tests - RA, Graves
