Some of the BRYC ODSL teams (run by rec) were able to move over to the Elite side to get access to NCSL, and that program has continued as the "Bridge" program; those are the Black/Silver teams. The levels of these teams varies widely. Some have a relationship with their ECNL/Elite coaching counterparts, some run completely separately. The Black/Silver teams aren't really ranked, if you're the first "Bridge" team in your age group you're the Black team, if a second team forms they're Silver.

Our bridge team has always played NCSL and is ranked above the other Elite teams. It all varies.

Definitely! And it can vary from year to year. There really isn't any sort of hierarchy with the Bridge teams. We kinda do our own thing

There are definitely BRYC NCSL teams with parents who voted not to play games this season; this option was offered by the club. My team is one of them. We only had a handful of families who wanted to play games, so decision was made for us.

We found guest playing opportunities for the kids who wanted to play games with another BRYC NCSL team who was short players because some of their kids opted out. It has worked out great.

I don't think a team can hold you hostage if your player hasn't played in any games this season for the team, but would be worth reaching out to the club. We had a player who came to our team part the way through a fall season and he was ineligible to play for us because he had already played in an NCSL game for another team, even though his old team wanted to release him and I had room for him. He just trained with us until the end of the season and then was good to go after that.

BTW, many of the BRYC NCSL teams are teams that used to be on the BRYC ODSL side (which is run by the rec side) but came over to the Elite side of the fence to get access to NCSL. You can tell those teams by the team names, they are the BRYC Elite Black and Silver teams.

there are some ODSL teams that did not get a season this year. Maybe the club set something else for them

I bet some of their NCSL teams are wishing they voted not to play this fall now. After first 2 weeks the boys teams aren't looking to good.

So you are losing 90.00? Seriously? The rec program allowed refunds and made it clear what to expect this fall.

They are separate.

I don’t think they use roster cards in rec soccer .
There is no contract to lock you in at the rec level.
This is travel for sure. Either what they call an Elite team. Or a former Odsl team they call a bridge team.
