And a nice 800-case day to carry us into Phase III. I could justify this if we were at 200-300 cases a day for a month+ but I don't see the rush to blanket re-open like this. NY and NJ earned their re-openings. Have we?

or hell even wait until the 18th to verify the post-holiday is like Memorial Day instead of the Fourth of July.

The science was on your side in March but that was when everyone was guessing. Read some of the more recent publications and use some logic. If surface contact was a major or even somewhat prevalent mode of transmission, we'd have all had it by Memorial Day.

If an infected person coughs on your cereal box on Thursday and you immediately lick the box in the store, you'll probably get sick. If you avoid licking cereal boxes, you'll probably be fine. Or just stay home. Doesn't really matter to me.

What's more worrisome are the movie theaters and other gatherings. Do all of them really have enough ventilation to prevent spread through aerosols?

Staying at home doesn’t protect me from the consequences of your bad, selfish, reckless decisions. I could easily be infected by someone through the mail, a delivery, or people interacting with people I must interact with.
