I have a cousin that graduated from UL and now works for Amazon making big bucks but I know it’s not prestigious enough.

Wake: 8,000 students, suburban campus, avg SAT 1390, avg ACT 31, acceptance rate 29%
Louisville: 23,000 students, urban campus, avg SAT 1190, avg ACT 25, acceptance rate 70%

Louisville might not be the worst school, but it's certainly not in Wake's league.

Having lost on the "it doesn't belong on the list based on quality argument," you've shifted to the "it's not really the same!" argument. Guess what? NO university is exactly the same as WF because they aren't WF. These are options that DC can spend five minutes looking at on line and dismiss out of hand, if they wish.

OP is interested in Wake and "comparable"/"similar" schools. UL is neither comparable nor similar. Not comparable in quality and not similar in type. Please stop with this. Agreed. Surprised at some of the schools suggested. Davidson, University of the South (Sewanee), college of Charleston, Furman. It is very southern and preppy. Great school if it’s the right fit.

Honestly, the first thing I noticed on our tour is that all the students and faculty were white and all the custodians, food service workers, and even the construction workers around campus were black. It was really uncomfortable coming from such a diverse area.

Because there are no POC in the food service and construction industry here? It must have been very shocking to see black people serving white people.

It’s 70% white and the races .From a glance it looks like all the students are white and all the service people are black. So yes there is a problem is it’s “blacks serving whites”, instead of workers, who happen to be black serving a diverse group of students. This is how prejudiced are learned.

this is common dynamic for the south, I expect the reactions of most of the students’ (and their parents) reactions to my brown kid would be to expect affirmative action or that he was on financial aid or some other stereotype.

Sadly that is the dynamic of a lot of southern schools.my kids are black, and I’m from the south; but Regardless of race, I wouldn’t sign up (let alone pay full price) for this lesson.

Off of the top of my head, I would say Richmond, Rochester, Lehigh, William & Mary.

Wake is probably more Greek-oriented and is in a Power 5 conference for athletics, unlike those schools. You'd have to look at stats to consider if they are actually less of a reach.

You suck at Reading. OP asked for "similar", "comparable" and schools "like Wake" and you're making a futile attempt to suggest Louisville. Which shows you either know very little about Louisville or very little about Wake.
