If true, I'm actually really happy that the state is involved. If DL is going to be imposed on us, there should be actual governance over the districts so that they don't do another year of kick the can down the road.


I don't know if that's true. This article says that VDOE isn't approving plans at all - just requiring submission and offering guidance. It's left up to local school boards.

Looks to me like they are meeting with small groups at that time. Do you interpret it differently?

What grade? That seems way too long but my kids are in elementary.

We only get 30 minutes for lunch!!! And a short break in the am and one in the pm.

My 6th grader has 2.5 hours of required time live. There are also 1.5 hours of reading, math, and intervention blocks which he will sometimes need to take a part in but not everyday. So it could vary but it will probably be around 3-3.5 hours of live instruction which is what the county said for this age. I think our school did a good job by color coding our schedule and making sure parents knew that teacher directed time could vary day by day depending on what they are doing.

My kids school only has 30 minutes for lunch which I find disappointing. The kids need more time than that to eat and get a screen break. An hour would’ve been really nice.
