As long as your kid is getting enough physical activity and you're fine with the stroller (I admit to finding them somewhat inconvenient) who cares?

We walk a lot, so kid is used to walking. At first when we stopped with the stroller he would asked to be carried from time to time. But now, he wants to be able to walk and be more independent. I do like the stroller bc it keeps him locked up and he can't run away, but when we would take it just in case and let him walk it was annoying to keep track of him and the stroller. Also, I feel like with small kids you have to exhaust them to keep your sanity--stroller walks don't accomplish that as well.

The last time we used a stroller was for amusement parks, local and Disney before covid struck. We didn’t use them for anything but amusement parks or large events that were all day walking after he turned three. We haven’t used and wouldn’t use them anymore, now at 4.3.

Nope! I think it really varies kid to kid, hence all the different responses about giving up the stroller. My three year old can walk about 1.5-2 miles somewhere, play, then walk back and be fine.

People who walk a lot more tend to use it longer. I live in NYC and people are not giving up strollers at 18 mos, hahaha, or even at 3. No one will blink an eye if you keep using it through preschool.

Um....my kid goes on a long walk almost every day. Which is I guess why he is able to? There’s nothing wrong with using a stroller as long as you want but stop trying to act like that’s the only option.

All of you judging have obviously never had an autistic kid bolt.

Americans like to create rules... no stroller after age 3, 4, etc, no bottles after age 1, sleep by 7:30am, etc etc. Who cares? Do what works for you. My 4.5 is not in stroller but sometimes she likes to sit in the double stroller next to her little brother.

2.5 and haven't used it for several months. He just walks. Not sure why we stopped taking it out when we left the house, but overall seems easier to go without it.

For our first, around 3. For the second, we ditched it when he was 2.5.

He either wanted to scoot or ride his bike.

I think it depends what you use it for. My twin boys are 3 years and 3 months and we basically stopped using our double stroller a little before they turned 3, but that's also because we hardly go anywhere since COVID hit other than neighborhood walks and hikes. I don't see us going back to the stroller unless we are going to do something that would require them to be walking for hours and hours on end (e.g., like taking the metro to the monuments and touring all of the monuments for half the day or something like that).

Our neighbor pushes their 5 year old in a stroller to the nearby playground. On other days their kid is out riding his bike without training wheels. Clearly he can walk two blocks, and it's so weird to see a 5 year old sitting there like a baby.

Lol, hope you weren't offended when my 6 yr old asked why your 6 yr old was in a stroller and I said "he's probably disabled and can't walk."

3.5 and we still use it a lot for walks over a half-mile. Sometimes we just push it alongside my kid because she usually walks but I like having it in case she gets tired. She's heavy enough that it's hard for me to carry her for long.
