Ask her how to get onto your high schools’s Naviance and look at scattergrams. They will show the stats of other applicants to W&M from your school.
I think that Covid-19 makes it more important for anyone who’s not wealthy to focus on in-state publics, or HYPS type schools with huge endowments.
If a school is going to have a lot of chaos, the idea of paint $70,000 all in for a chaotic year at that school is going to be painful.
And, if a school has some kind of shutdown or other emergency, getting your kid home from an in-state school might be a lot easier than getting your kid home from the middle of Ohio.

Davidson is a safety for no one. It is significantly harder admit than W&M with a 19% acceptance rate and is light years better than Elon and Mary Washington. It's a toss up whether Davidson or Wash & Lee is the best SLAC in the south.

Likely bored at Mary Washington unless she likes a low key atmosphere.

In state she'll apply to Mary Washington and VT. VT of course not at all like the others but it has a very strong natural resources school and that particular program is not big. So, at least considering it as an option.. She didn't like CNU.
This is a very good list for a kid who wants to study Biology at a SLAC.
