Nowhere inside the beltway. There are a few parents here and there. But really the ones that think they are "cool and grounded" are constantly judging the other parents, thus making them neither cool nor grounded.

While not chill on the grand scheme of things, this is the best answer for a neighborhood of people with average household incomes over 200K/year. Kids kinda do whatever they want around there and the parents seem to be drinking beers on their porches.

But this is only in comparison to the rest of WOTP/rich Nova/MoCo neighborhoods. If you want actually chill, nothing exists inside the beltway.


Only the families in the older houses that buy them for the original charm. The young families buying the $2m+ monster flips are Uber snooty and not chill.

Left SF three years ago to be closer to husband’s family. I don’t love DC but I do not miss SF at all.


I left there 2 years ago to transfer with my tech company to NoVA. I could not be happier to have left that place. Cool and chill is not SF. Of course now all the ones that can are trying to get the hell out of Dodge.
