He believes that, when Congressman Beyer retires and Mayor Justin Wilson is awarded Beyer’s seat in Congress next cycle, he (Chapman) will become Mayor. This is a visibility play. Of course, Wilson is progressively less effective, more disliked, and demonstrates poorer political judgment, so the whole linchpin - Wilson moving up to Congress - is likely no longer realistic.

Keep it up. People on both sides are growing more and more disgusted with these tactics. They're backfiring.

Agree with the poster above. Harassing officials and their families outside of their homes is not okay, at all. I was horrified to see AOC being harassed and I feel the same for this man. How scary for the children.

As an Alexandria straight-Dem voter, I’d be more comfortable with Chapman’s protests in front of Wolf’s house if Chapman was more tolerant of protests himself. Time and time again Chapman has toed the line set by his boss Mayor Wilson to not hear dissenting voices in Council meetings, to rubber-stamp the progressive reduction of speaker rights at Council meetings, to take extreme voting positions to adhere to Wilson’s orders and then refuse to respond to public inquiries, and to even refuse to consider Remedies and restorations of rights when city inspectors have selectively written tickets on political signs that criticize Wilson. If Chapman was willing to accept the same kind of public criticism that he is delivering, no problem. But he isn’t.

I have to admit I am not fully comfortable with protesting outside people's houses. As a Democrat, I have to ask myself would I like if Republicans protested outside of a Democratic official's house. I wouldn't so why is OK the other way around?

I abhor the policies that Wolf is implementing. Are there other ways to reform our immigration system? Yes! Also, once we've paid reparations to descendants of slaves, we need to pay reparations to Central America for all the damage America has caused there.

I think it’s great. People are sick of the racism and are standing up to fight for change. It’s awesome to see him lead from the front and set an example for us all.

For those who are inconvenienced and made uncomfortable by the peaceful protestors, I’m not sorry. You should be marching as well if you want to see change.
