After divorce, many men that I have talked to who had wives with Hobby jobs or who were SAHMs care about income because they got burned once and don’t want a repeat.

Care about intelligence and education - yes because the genes of the mother of my children matter. Income? As long as she has proven she can be self-reliant (i.e. not living with her off her parents), I don’t care.

Me too. And I’m a woman earning 400k with family money dating a guy with very little- but dear lord he’s handsome and kind and super super sexy and kind and fun. Won’t marry again, don’t need someone to take care of me - free to date who I please.

I've never met a man who cared about a woman's income... however, I think most guys in this area want a woman who has some kind of career.

Note to those in the dating pool: There are many people in the dating pool (both men and women) who have serious financial problems. I was shocked when I dated the socially prominent lawyer in my town and he let drop that he and his former wife owed $70,000 on credit cards. I mean, who carries $70,000 on credit cards?

You’d be surprised how many doctors are living paycheck to paycheck with a big mortgage, big payments on a fancy car, and nothing put away for retirement.

Not the poster you were responding to but you were making A LOT 20 years ago if you were earning 85k then at age 27. The OP is making good money and better than average compared to most women at her age now.

So most women date because they want to get married, and for the purpose of getting married. The op is likely not asking if a man would casually date and have sex with a woman who does or doesn’t make a lot (we know the answer to that is yes). Op is likely asking if a man would seriously date and consider marrying such a woman.

This guy also was kind of like a rock star in my town. I'd be at lunch or dinner dates with him and other women would come up to the table and throw themselves on him (hint around about dating) while I was present.

We did not go on many dates.....probably a good thing.
