I love this show. I am binge watching the Australian version right now and want to give Ronan's mom a hug. She's just so kind to her son with her gentle, encouraging comments on his strengths. i.e. "You do so many things so well, I'm so proud of how independent you are"
I have an adult sibling on the autism spectrum. We have emotionally abusive parents, so it makes it that much harder for my sibling to function. Watching the contrast between how my emotionally abusive parents treat my sibling with respect to her autism vs. how the parents on the show treat their adult children is illuminating and heartwarming, it makes me cry.
It gives me hope for my sister and it's teaching me better ways to encourage her.
