Subject: Doing hardwoods upstairs, any regrets?

I now have a pinched nerve in my foot, going on five years. It’s so painful. And my kids sound like the running of the bulls. Wood is easier to clean but I wish I had carpet, not rugs, for quiet and comfort.

That would be annoying - for me it's a bonus, because if I hear my dog clicking in the hall it means something is wrong (usually that he's sick and needs to go out). On a normal night he doesn't leave the rug.

We live in an old house and have hardwoods everywhere. Love it, even the creaks.

We have 2 dogs and hardwood upstairs......One is a german shepherd who likes to do perimeter checks a couple of times a night. The tap tap tap of her nails on the floor wakes me up every single time she does this. It is my only regret but its a big one.....lol
