Also, short people have longer life expectancies on average.

Yes, ideally I’d like them to be tall. Both my husband and I are tall and it’s only been positive. So far, both DD and DS are on track to be at least 5’10”/6’2”

5’7 female here. Being tall is an advantage for boys, but I always got unfairly screwed because of it.

I dont really think a 5'7" woman is tall. I'm 5'9" and what I would call tall-ish, I think tall for women is over 5"10. isnt' 5'5" average? To me 5'3" to 5'7" feels average, middle of the bell curve

I’m usually the second tallest of the group.

5'7 and husband is 6'1. I like my height. Wish I was a few inches taller. Hated it growing up because I was taller than all the boys until they hit puberty. From senior year of HS on, I always dated boys/men who were taller than me. My prom date was 5'9. I remember being so excited to borrow my mom's fancy pumps and he was throwing a fit the whole night because I was taller than him. After that I never dated anyone who was less than 6'1. Realize how ridiculous that is now but it made such an impression on me at the time.

My daughter just turned 12 and is 5'3. Still hasn't gotten her period and doctor thinks she will be 5'7 to 5'9. I'm happy with that for her. Being tall will be an advantage in the sports she plays.

Both DS and DD-- yes, I'd like them both to be tall. Luckily DD is already tall. DS yet to hit growth spurt.

I’m 5’6” and found out after I married that my 5’11” husbands mother was less than 5 feet tall. My daughter was very petite for much of her childhood, and I was concerned she was going to be very short. I was relieved when she moved up into average range in middle school, and ended up 5’7” after late puberty.

My son is just 5''3 entering 9th grade and I worry for him. 18yo dd has a friend (boy) who is 4''11 and another friend (girl) who is 6''3 and both express sadness about their heights. The girl has back problems.

My DD is average height and has never had any issues.

I don't have daughters but I'm 5'.3". I've never had a problem with my height but I did want to marry a tall man. Husband is 6'.1". My 12yr. old son is almost my height and my 15yr. is 6.0" already.

I agree with everyone that being taller, specially for a man, is so much better and I agree taller men are more successful in all aspects of life than shorter men. I already see it in my sons. No one picks on them, they stand out from the bunch. They also play sports so that's a huge advantage.

And I think safer. People might be less likely to mess with someone who is bigger than they are.

I’m 5’6” and cannot reach the 3rd and 4th shelf in my kitchen cabinets. It would be nice for my kids not to share that struggle so they can reach things for me in my old age.

I agree that height for men is important and since it is, height for women because important to.

I work in an upper management position and there are about 25 people in similar positions in my organization. I think the shortest man is about 5'10". I am 5'7" and with heels I am closer to being at eye level with the men. I think it makes a budget difference. There is one woman who is maybe 5'2" and very petite and I know she sometimes feels her lack of stature.

I guess OP has never read the stats regarding the advantage height gives you in life.

For men it is particularly important. Many women do not want to even date short men. My minimum requirement was 6'. I married 6'3"
