Wait, is this Siena’s “ sister school”? This makes me very concerned about considering Siena for my child’s future schooling. Why did they do this with Auburn, is this their goal?

Were you there before and after the school was bought out by the profiteers? Have you noticed any changes for the worse or better? Are they really not even trying to open for the whole year?

If they are getting paid the same amnount to educate kids virtually why would they care--from a business/profit POV--if the education sucks? Opening in person costs more money.

The current head of school's experience on paper is pretty unimpressive, and he posted on facebook this fall asking if anyone had any "algebra 1 and algebra 2 worksheets" because a math teacher had quit. Not a good sign.

I think it’s odd not to have updated the schools Facebook since March 2019! How do they communicate with families?

The head of the for-profit company that is now Auburn educational group is a CPA with no special ed experience.
It’s called Capital Education and it’s a subsidiary of compass learning, a for profit that owns the high road chain of schools and others.

The same company apparently owns High Road school in DC—if it’s priced similarly to other day schools, then DC is paying @ $250/day per kid. FCPS was paying $250/day for Auburn in Ffx for a student placed there...

Oh and they want to pay 35k for a special ed teacher in DC. No experience or credentials required. Starting salary for a first year teacher in DCPS is 42k.

They just listed yesterday an ad trying to hire 5-10 ?! elementary school teachers, a middle school teacher, a lead classroom teacher

All only have special ed experience and teacher certificate as “preferred.” WOW.

Also looking for a “social learning specialist” with a masters degree in speech path and 3-5 Years experience with dc with ASD and they want to pay $52k.

These are just in FAIRFAX. A ton of jobs in SS and DC as well. What school does this company own in DC?

Any new updates on Auburn Fairfax? Will the campus be reopening?

Maybe, but businesses don't usually work that way.

Usually the day schools are non-profits, not set up to create revenue.
