What is they rush? The girls should just focus on school and not worry on recruiting right now

The IWLCA feels strongly that girls recruiting will be greatly behfitted by going to July 1st the girls don’t need to know where they are going until senior year

So many Title IX lawyers on one message board, and not one of them is aware that the men's and women's lacrosse recruiting calendars are already different at the Division I level and have been for a few years.

Title IX protects people from discrimination based on sex in education programs or activities that receive Federal financial assistance. Title IX states that “No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.”

Title IX applies to institutions that receive federal financial assistance. Educational programs and activities that receive ED funds must operate in a nondiscriminatory manner. A key area in which recipients (schools) have Title IX obligations is recruitment.

By denying girls the same opportunity that boys have to be recruited (for lacrosse in this case) violates the equal opportunity provision of Title IX. The NCAA cannot apply a different rule for boys and girls to one sport.

Title IX requires all aspects- academic and athletic - of schools be equal for men and women (all opportunities for men and women must be equal - which is far greater than just scholarships). To alter just the women’s date and not the men’s create an inequality in the recruting opportunities. . It doesn’t matter what the IWLCA coaches want. What matters is how it affects the students.

It isn’t a violation because IWLCA can do what it wants. It is what the coaches want and they don’t want to recruit 2022’s for multiple reasons.
