A lot of this stuff is hygiene theater; masks help, but what you really need to know is about the ventilation system and whether they'll be running HEPA filters.

Dance is important to my daughter’s mental health (she has anxiety) so we decided it was worth returning after they sent out their protocols. Temperatures are taken before they enter the building, they are given hand sanitizer at the start and end of class, each dancer is assigned a taped out space on the floor, dancers and coaches are wearing masks, class sizes are small (ten or less), the Marley floors are cleaned between each class, bathrooms are cleaned after each use, etc. We have been very impressed so far and we realize that the new normal requires taking the calculated risks that we feel are most important.

Virtual seems to be industry standard. My kids are resistant to the virtual thing too. My thought is "too bad. If you want to dance this is what it's going to be for awhile." A little flexibility in their thinking and the ability to adapt is a good thing.

we are debating the same thing. Our Vienna studio is offering both virtual and in-person options. My DD did not like the virtual. It sucks because she is missing out.
