Things you can do with the peloton you can’t with the app: ride live and be on the leaderboard
See your output (which is essential for power zone classes)
If you can afford it, get the peloton. If you can’t afford it or it won’t be your primary exercise, get the bike and use the app.
I have the Sunny 1805 (+cadence monitor and clip pedals) and the Peleton app. I can see the appeal of the real Peleton bike and can afford it, but for me I ride as cross training for marathon running. The Sunny is solid, has magnetic resistance, and gives me a great workout. I find a lot of value in the Peleton App itself. Loving their running, strength, yoga, stretching, and meditation classes in addition to the cycle.
