He already has hobby vehicles (plural) that I helped him buy. He derives great enjoyment from working on them, often with one of the kids who's developed an interest. I'm not some shrew who won't every let the poor man buy something to make him happy. His electronics collection is bordering on absurd.

We have two family cars, and we swap cars as needs require. I don't want to be stuck driving the monstrosity.

This will make Chevy really regret resurrecting the Blazer name on the compact SUV its on now. However, I think GM is putting all of their new truck hopes on the GMC Hummer thing.

The lack of a live front axle will be handicap the Bronco on the most technical of off-road trails. A front locker will help some, but it’s still no substitute for axle articulation. And IFS simply doesn’t articulate like a live axle.
