I was good friends with a guy well into our 20s. He and his girlfriend broke up and I went to his apartment with another friend to see him. Had never been inside it. He had about 30 beanie babies around. Said they were the exes. Fast forward a year, stopped up to his apartment before we were going to a party, beanie babies still there.

You are making a lot of assumptions here. Why don't you, I don't know, TALK to your boyfriend about how it makes you feel, and hear what he has to say? Then you can make a decision about whether or not to remain with him. What you can't do is issue an ultimatum about his Poohaphernalia.
