We lived on a very busy street. We had double pane windows. Everything was sealed up right. The bedroom was in the back. The noise never bothered us and we were happy to be on a street with constant traffic because it was safer than the nearby secondary streets, always got plowed right away, and was right next to a metro and bus stops. It didn’t seem to affect home sales things often sold before the first open house.

My guess is this home has been sitting for a different reason or it’s because of COVID.

I used to live on a busy avenue in NYC - never again! For me it was feeling like I couldn't open the windows and the truck noise. I also am concerned about the amount of pollution. I blame my kids eczema on it. If you do choose to live on a major street I'd invest in air filters for sure.

I prefer to live on a busy street. I like a reasonably amount of foot traffic so that I feel safe if I'm walking home late at night.

I've lived on major city thoroughfares for close on 20 years now. I have a hard time sleeping out in the country!
