In person. My husband and I are both teachers so we have to go to work. I can't afford full time care for my kids so sending them to school two days means I'll only have to cobble together 3 days of babysitting.

I'll apply for a virtual position but with no documented medical need, doubt I'll get one.

If more teachers request distance learning than are needed, they seem to be having a priority system for those with health risks to get first dibs.

I would think there will be more teachers who WANT to teach DL vs. students who want to DL. All teachers can request to be a DL teacher by the same deadline (7/1), but assignment will be based on personal health/family health issue and then preference. It seems like most families want in person option, so DL might be a very small group...

This would not make any sense. Why would they do this. Centers would be underenrolled and and non centers would be overcrowded.

It wasn't directly addressed. However center start times are being moved to 10:05, with the earlier start time being something around 9 (I forget exactly, because our base is a center so I didn't pay attention). So they still do have time to bus to centers. Since they may juggle students around - one of my kids' teachers dropped something off today and confirmed that both teachers and students may be asked to move - I don't know that we know for sure where kids will end up, even those of us who are at a center no matter what.


Our center and base are both 9:20 so would both move to 10:05. I would consider driving my child instead of busing, possibly depending how the bus is and certainly if needed. Also wondering that nothing addresses specifically if there will definitely be in-person AAP classes (versus just mixed gen ed).


Where can I see the info about the new times? I missed this aspect.


In the PowerPoint on BoardDocs under the 6/23 meeting. Our center is having a Q&A about fall next week - maybe other schools will follow?

Additionally, I have noticed that DL has benefited my child more, less interruptions and distractions from classmates, classroom is more controlled and she seems more focus.

I have no problem with this. Means my kid will get more time in person with the teacher. Actually, hoping more parents pick DL so those of us that are willing to send kids back will be able to score more days of in person teaching.

Our center school is over capacity and our base is below capacity so I wonder if my kids would get asked to move back to base. That said, there’s no LLIV at our base. If all the kids from our neighborhood had to move back to the base I guess I would be ok with it. Idk how likely that is.
