Nobody is looting.
People are protesting peacefully, which people have a right to do.
Not when there is a curfew
Not when there is a pandemic
I’m glad we left DC.

Um, put the special sauce down. The whole city has been looted. Even the bloody palisades where I live.

Then Bowser will raise taxes for special assistance to CVS and 7-11 to recover. Meanwhile the cops just stand by while the thugs loot. And you will pay the bill.
Is this the same Mayor who thinks "vibrant high density" will attract more business and life to the city? She doesnt seem that retail friendly right now.

Yet downtown and elsewhere the cops are not enforcing the curfew against the protestors, who surely will be followed by the looters.
Bowser is an embarrassing joke.
I just drove through upper NW, plenty people, out walking, cycling, and driving. Which is fine.
They are not the target audience for the curfew. It’s more the looters and thugs.

So does this mean that I can go on my evening run through leafy Woodley Park?
I read somewhere that essential activities are excluded—so you can jog, walk a dog, etc. I actually went for a jog last night after the curfew along a major street in my quiet EOTP neighbourhood, and even waved to a police car—it was fine.
So if you leave the store, just remember to jog away - no problem

Dear District Business Owners,
If your business experienced any damage over the last several days and you need plywood or help boarding up your storefront, we are here to help. To request assistance from DCRA, please email dcra.abatement@dc.gov.
In your email, please include the name of your business, its location, a brief description of the damage and what you need help with, along with contact information. Our abatement teams will work with you to secure your property, or help connect you with a licensed contractor for more complex repair work.
Damaged businesses are also encouraged to reach out to their local Business Improvement District (BID), a list of which are provided here:
Dear District Business Owners,
If your business experienced any damage over the last several days due to my abject dereliction of duty in ensuring public safety and the protection of private property, and you need plywood or help boarding up your storefront, we are here to help with another layer of bureaucracy! To request assistance from DCRA, please email dcra.abatement@dc.gov. E-Mails are typically answered within 3 to 5 weeks.
Sincerely,
Muriel E. Bowser
“Mayor”
District of Columbia
