They take 30-50% off the top. And while they are managing you still have responsibilities and when there are issues you get involved. “They are putting a new house on the roof next door, we didn’t pay 15k a week to vacation next to a construction site”, was my favorite.

People do dumb stuff to house that are theirs. I know of a house that rent for over 20k a week, tried to figure out what happened to all of their deck furniture, till they saw all of the burnt nails and screws in bottom of fireplace. Another house, pool guy went to fix hot tub that wasn’t filtering, 3 filter cartridges and filter intake pipe were blocked with pizza.

Wow, I would be really annoyed if I arrived for my one relaxing vacations year and had to listen to construction noise all week. Construction noise usually starts early in the morning, too.

Does sunset have any decent restaurants? Anything going on down there?

We bought a place a couple years ago intending to rent it out a lot. We rented it for two weeks the first summer. I didn't like the experience. The renters were fine. No damage or theft or anything negative. But the anxiety it caused me thinking of strangers in the house I had just lovingly decorated and furnished was not worth the income. We no longer rent it. Good thing too since we've been staying there since March. It's honestly been so nice to be away from the city.

Shhhh, I grew up going to Sunset and Ocean Isle, don't give away the secret!!!

(Didn't the state build a bridge to Sunset? I wonder how that affected crowds/prices. It used to be a ferry).
