Why not have the server feed it to you like momma bird to baby bird?

Maybe if you go to salt bae restaurant they will cut it

Doesn’t the kitchen have huge sharp knives where it would take two seconds to do this? I don’t see the big deal. Especially when even petite filets are like $60 now.

It’s weird but not going to be a problem if you have a sling or artificial arm, etc. if you are just lazy, I don’t think it’s a problem for the kitchen but karma will find your lazy ass and punish you

Exactly. A functioning adult, he11 even a kid can do this with a steak knife.

I’m sorry you experience this and for the insensitive and downright mean remarks. I would think you could ask the server and that restaurants would respond positively. If they did not, I wouldn’t visit again.

As a former restaurant cook I don't ever remember being asked this but it would allow for the cook to be able to ascertain the level of doneness more easily--without cutting you go by feel.

Most of the world thinks Americans and European are weird for serving food that has to be finished cutting on a tiny, curved plate with a little knife.

If you go to a decent recent, of course they will do this.

True story - my dad cut my meat for me until I went to college. I think that was an act of love.

Watching all these Instagram and Facebook vids, these chefs cut it so perfectly & quickly with their big sharp knives. Why can’t they just do that for guests? I find cutting meat so annoying and tedious.

You were not meant for this world.

I don’t think this is a big problem to ask. Especially if you’re splitting plates with others.
