Well, there you go. That rather proves the point.

This.

Op, I take it neither you nor your husband read a lot.

Pick a name that’s meaningful. A family name—which i’m guessing is Brayden, carter, or chase. Still better than Palmer.

I have a relative named Palmer. He's an elderly Swede.

Sounds like a gangster with ESL telling his goons to beat a woman.

I prefer the masturbation interpretation over your domestic violence one. I guess it says a lot about each of us.

First thought: Rosie Palmer, as in the punchline to a middle school joke about masturbation.

Second thought: Jim Palmer who was a baseball star who I knew only as a very hot Jockey underwear model who posed in tiny briefs.

So apparently Palmer makes me think of penises.

I knew a Palmer in HS in early 80s. He was a very nice, extremely preppy boy from an affluent family.

I think Parker is a better choice! Parker is cool!

OP, it's a really weak name for a boy. Please go for something a little more... masculine.

Why is this thread even on general parenting? This should be on the expecting board.

Palmer, Baker, Cooper, Chandler, Tanner, Wheeler, etc.: unless it's a family name or honoring one's trade or life calling I think they sound silly.

Don't forget: Carter

(I truly hope no one ever names a child "Palmer" it's just like the kid is begging to be backhanded.)

It sounds very old WASP to me. My dad had a friend named Palmer. He is in his 80's.
