Teenage Tom Petty took guitar lessons from a slightly older guy, Don Felder, (later of the Eagles) in their shared hometown of Gainesville, Florida.

Well before joining the Eagles, Joe Walsh and his wife had a daughter who died at 3 in a car crash. The mom was driving. In her memory, Walsh installed a water fountain in his daughter's favorite park.

O.J. Simpson's had a daughter, Aeren (from his first marriage to Marguerite) who drowned at age 2.

Tatum O' Neal's mom was in a couple episodes of the Andy Griffith show. She was in the episode where she and Andy go to a fancy french restaurant and she eats snails and wants him to eat them too.
