Look at the best practices in other countries. Surely America can do something right. Somebody should be inventing a special mask for kids now. Let the kids wear hazard outfits. The virus may be around for a while. What do sports teams plan to do with their large crowds when they start playing again?

They will need to amend the sick time policy for sure. Kids should be staying home if a household member is sick. At least until it is clear it is not CV-19.

The Mayor and DCPS played a game of kick the can down the road for a couple months. So, why would we expect a list of plans A -F with contingencies for multiple situations. They will not tell people now they expect everyone to be at home or only part-time in classroom for most students. They don't want to give people that long to complain and lobby against the reality.
On May 15th at best there will be a tentative announcement for summer. I suppose they could have a tentative announcement for fall but I bet they will kick the can again.

Who is going to come in and clean? One or two custodians can't clean a school in one hour. Teachers need to go to the bathroom and eat lunch before the second wave a students come.

They need to make morning shifts and afternoon shifts. No recess. breakfast for the morning shift, lunch for the afternoon shift. No group more than 15.
Group A goes to school for 3 hours, teachers get a 45-minute lunch, then comes group B. Parents need to find a way to get some type of childcare and pick up their kids from school on time.
No in-school afternoon activities for kids, no need for long daily meetings for teachers.
It's being done in a few countries overseas. Why can't it be done here?

You can not clean in between. So, that won't work.

Umm. Not everyone goes to church on Sunday. Lots of folks go on Saturday too.
Either way we can't expect teachers and school staff to work 6 days. Nor do I want my kids in school 6 days a week.

Nobody is suggesting that. If kids go for a half day they will be there for 3 hours

Kids can’t be in the classroom for seven hours straight. They’ll lose their minds. Teachers need to be able to eat, use the bathroom, and we are entitled to a duty free break. We aren’t going to sit in a classroom in a hot, uncomfortable mask for seven hours managing thirty kids all day. If you think that’s a reasonable ask then you should volunteer your time and try it out.
