America is really going downhill. The level of ignorance and/or laziness is shocking. We send NGOs to other countries to teach people living in poverty to wash their hands after going to the bathroom.

Are you touching your penis to common objects or asking acquaintances to shake it? Then yes, you should wash it in the sink, too. If it's just your hands you're using to do those things, then just wash your hands.

No, that is not normal. Do you have kids? They teach kids in preschool to wash after using the restroom, before eating, etc.

For reference, wash your hands:

Before, during, and after preparing food
Before eating food
Before and after caring for someone at home who is sick with vomiting or diarrhea
Before and after treating a cut or wound
After using the toilet
After changing diapers or cleaning up a child who has used the toilet
After blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing
After touching an animal, animal feed, or animal waste
After handling pet food or pet treats
After touching garbage
