Downtown DC center. We paid in full through April, now we're paying $600 per month. They stopped paying the teachers at the start of May, but they're still covering benefits (at least through the end of the month).

This is true. The government is not consistently paying this out. Just like the state is not paying child care centers for the EPCC designation. It seems to be word play.

I'm definitely not a director and why would I make that up? I was just trying to contribute my story to a discussion as I find it helpful to hear what others are paying/not paying.
One of the teacher's at the preschool is a friend of mine. They are making more then what they were making because they are getting the 600 (at least my teacher friend is, I can't vouch for the others). Preschool teachers unfortunately don't make a lot of money. I keep telling my friend to work for the public schools.

Our daycare in Potomac is not requiring us to pay tuition during this pandemic, which I really appreciate. My son's aftercare (Georgetown Hill) has taken a weird approach regarding payment. In April the said you can either pay full tuition or half tuition, or withdraw completely. In May they said you can either pay a flat $250, in which case you MAY be given priority when they reopen, but they can't really guarentee anything since they don't know how many kids they can take on if they are allowed to reopen. As an alternative you can withdraw, but you won't be given priority if they reopen.

I feel like its kind of a strong arm approach, which I find to be off-putting. I paid full price in April and the $250 in May, because I want to keep supporting the teachers. I don't think I will pay anything in June though since they just announced that MCPS will be closed for the rest of the year.

We paid Jan through July. School so far closed through June. He's in Franklin Monetessori. Paying up front seemed easier than monthly payments and worked for us in the past. The school is only offering help if YOU contact THEM. They sent out a "it frustrates us too" letter. They applied for financial relief, but to continue to charge and keep the money is wrong on so many levels. Otherwise, we just paid 3+ months (end of march, april, may and now june) of Montessori tuition for nothing.
