Everyone's like "oh you guys are heroes" (we're not, we're hostages), but there's a surprising amount of intolerance for anything other than a "sure you betchya!" attitude towards patient care. I promise I lead with compassion at work. But privately I am seething, it's so scary. To poster who asked about paycut, just google "private equity owned healthcare groups" and all the stuff will come up. People from my hospital /group have been leaking to the press for weeks.
This is healthcare, folks. It's no different than Nabisco anymore. And yes, I am disillusioned, but not with other patients.
Ah, office space, forgot that gem. Appreciate it.
Stressful times and healthcare workers have it particularly hard. They are front line workers and the combination of stress, anxiety and PTSD from having to deal with the patients, the virus and the death is enough to break anyone. So glad to help you find an outlet for your feelings. And very sorry that you have to be quarantined away from your child. Thank you for all that you do.
