Mid Atlantic Boys just added Richmond and VDA, no Arlington.

Where exactly is the official notification? Are we still commenting on rumors?

FFS. You are too stupid to be in the sport. Google is your friend.

Agree.

For the 100th time:

MORONS - I said OFFICIAL. this is a soccerwire post (not official) based on a report from The Athletic (not official). Let's wait to see what the DA (F'ing official) website says.

Just shows you the state of DA when they can't even update anybody.

From the ECNL site, boys DA teams on the move:

6 teams in SoCal just left DA for ECNL. So yes, something will happen to the boys side. https://www.boysecnl.com/2020/04/ecnl-boys-announces-6-new-member-clubs-in-southern-california-for-2020-2021/

I vote we take over the DA program and make it a CO-OP. better than winning the lottery.

Get real.

We have tried to mirror International clubs and changed to birth year and it’s been a disaster. I don’t know why you wish to continue a broken US model.

We can not replicate teeny tiny countries.

so why would we be so interested in DA? wasn't it a pipeline to the national teams? lol... it's either a kid's game and fun, or it's to be the most competitive players in the world. you have to be going to one side or the other lol

That is a good and separate point, the same as Armour. But VDA presumably will continue to exist for ECNL, so why not keep infrastructure and principles together for boys side?

Here's a pretty good local EDP division for boys teams : Bethesda, SAC Premier Blue, Pipeline, Baltimore Union, Achilles, Total Futbol, VDA, Arlington, Alexandria, SYC.

The great thing about EDP is that a really good team from an otherwise OK club can be in a top division. None of this nonsense where teams are in top divisions merely because they belong to a strong club and good teams excluded merely because other club teams are viewed as weaker.

I think the ex-DA in that group would want to keep it a bit more elite than that, maybe 6 of those and maybe Richmond and a PA team.

You can see that there are 10 or more very strong teams in the area and this list didn't include Calverton Cerritos or Potomac and maybe a few others. Why in the world does Rochmond need to get involved or even a Philly team. There's plenty of competition right here. You can play Richmond in Jeff Cup and Philly/NJ teams in EDP Cup.

Some parents like the idea of exposure to Richmond and PA despite the travel (I'm not one of them fwiw). Also some clubs, like Achilles for example, might not be able to field a competitive team at every age group.

This is why us parents ruin everything. There is no benefit for the kids to drive to PA to play whoever when Potomac (just grabbing a neutrally located competitive team) is just as competitive. It's just so parents can go to work and tell their coworker that their kid played whoever up in Philly. Just dumb. Or same with Richmond, so we can sit on 95 for 3 hours.

Philly Union is quite a bit better than Potomac.

May be, but they wont be playing anybody around here except DCU if all this is true.

Yep. This is what doesn't make sense to me. Are the MLS teams going to dump their own youth programs? If not, who will they play? Surely they can;t be plaaning on flying 14 year olds all over the country every weekend?

It's a 6-hour drive from Madrid to Barcelona. Wouldn't it be worthy for their youth academies to play each other? Or they can only drive three hours away? Neutral games in Valencia?

Lots of dummies here. They will announce the intent to shut down the girls side of DA. Nothing will happen to the boys side.
