School district will be allowed to petition for a waiver of up to 5 days.
The continuity of learning that started on 3/30 counts towards the 180 day requirement.
I think this means that the school year could end on time or very close.
Original calendar was based on 182 days. Only 1 snow day was used. So there is 1 extra day left.
School was closed for two weeks (3/16-3/27) - 10 days missed.
Made up 3 days by using spring break days (4/6-4/9).
This only leaves 6 days to make-up.
If they get a waiver for 5 days and another waiver to have school on the scheduled MD primary day. All 6 days will have been made or waived.
As we know the state is usually not fond of giving waivers to MCPS so who knows but school should end by late June at the latest.
