This one may be more relevant because it adjusts for the mix of majors at the schools. But it still shows Carnegie Mellon ahead.

People don't stay in the exact same place after graduation. Come on. Just think about where all your friends and colleagues went to college.

Still waiting on that list of companies that ONLY hire students from CMU.

Pittsburgh is an interesting city. The buildings at CMU are ugly. Nothing like the grounds at UVA or even some of the buildings at Pitt. And Pittsburgh can be gloomy much of the year, compared to warmer and sunnier Charlottesville.

But, again, if you’re a CS nerd who wants to work for a high-tech start-up, CMU may be better.

Then definitely CMU. We have a warped view of UVA living in this area, CMU is considerably more prestigious and their typical students are very different.
