I’m an introvert so the last few weeks have been easy for me. I also have a teenager so he is in his room doing school work a lot. I’ve enjoyed the break TBH. I’m a teacher and this year has been the worst I’ve ever had. Next week we will be trained for some type of remote teaching. I have no clue how it will work with our school population though. This would’ve been much harder when my kid was younger and full of energy.

Yes. We are a family of major introverts, with two tweens/teens. We love working from home, they love being able to sleep in with no grades and minimal schoolwork. The dog is in heaven. BUT we are in the minority, and in the perfect stage of our lives to weather something like this - the eye of the storm if you will. If the kids were older/younger, or our jobs were different, our our economic situation not as fortunate, it would be a completely different story. I understand and appreciate this every single day.

OTOH I am stressed about the larger implications of this. Worried about our elderly parents, worried about the service people I have built decades-long relationships with being out of work, and, on a larger scale about the economic and political fallout of all of this. But on a personal level, this lifestyle works for our particular family.

Hell no. Just had a blow up with my oldest because he doesn’t want to do the most basic of school assignments and my younger is missing her friends and in a huge funk.

Yes. In a new city. The school has been a complete bust and the kids are switching next year. I seriously think my ten year old’s wishes and prayers about never having to go back there came true. I’m not going to complain once about the distance learning.

I enjoy much of it, but my husband has been working outside of the home 12+ hours and is likely to be losing his job very soon. I'm terrified of that and the potential virus he may be bringing home

No. This is a nightmare. My husband and I work. We have lost our childcare and school and now have to completely juggle schedules to keep our jobs, house, and feed our family. Meanwhile we worry about all the people around us who will likely loose their businesses and their livelihoods. We are likely looking at the next Great Depression.

For those of you saying how nice this is, I hope your spouse has a recession-proof job (at this point the only safe ones are doctors, nurses, government employees, farmers, truck drivers, first responders, teachers, and professional athletes). I hope your spouses don’t work as lawyers or in the financial industries because they are all going to loose their jobs or take HUGE pay-cuts in the very near future.

No, this has been terrible.

Yes. It's far from perfect but I'm loving the closeness and simplicity. I work but I am taking some hours of leave without pay to deal with kid stuff, I'm grateful to have that flexibility and have savings to cover the temporary pay cut.

Yes for me. I try to hold myself back and not glee too much.
I am a single mom to a 10 yo, I can wfh and he is very independent.
My only worries are his lack of exercise and math practice, and too much screen time. That is, before Sh*t hits the fan and we all start losing our jobs.
