If OP is thinking that I say, "I have a 12 year old 6th grader doing 7th grade math," she will automatically know which unit he is in the middle of, which ones he's done, which ones he already knows, which ones he has coming up, etc? By the time I find out exactly where my kids are in each topic and unit, I could get the information and find a curriculum. Even saying factoring isn't enough. (My kid started factoring in 4th and is doing it again in Algebra 1.) You need to be extremely specific - that's what gets so complicated in all this. Beginning home schooling at the start of every school year, knowing what you just finished and where you're headed, is MUCH different from where kids are in the middle of the third quarter of a school year.
Right, exactly - there are already several online resources that can help you figure this out. Even some that align their recommendations to teach state's standards of learning. Why would I pay a person to look this up, when I can do it myself in front of the tv tonight?
