alright, came onto this forum to ask about bidet toilets + seats. Am looking for the washlet equvalent. Any other suggestions?

I think hand held shower heads may not work on fat people. It will work for skinny people or if you use a squatty potty so that you evacuate cleanly and completely, without stuff smearing on your bum. Then when you are being sprayed, a precise and small area gets rinsed leaving you clean. When you stand up the wet area is squeezed by your bottoms so the water is squeezed out and the area is no longer dripping wet. The remaining dampness is soaked in your underwear and that also dries up quickly with your natural body heat. I cannot imagine fat people who are sitting without squatting will not soil a larger area of their bums. Yes, this will not work for most of the Americans. They will need a powerwash. There is a reason that fights have occured over TPs.

You do your business. Squirt water on to rinse off, then wipe with toilet paper. I suppose you could wipe first, rinse, then wipe again.

The Toto washlet has heated water, adjustable temperature and pressure, and a heated dryer. No need for toilet paper at all.

That’s what we bought. Used them in a Europe and they’re great. Don’t know why the large bidets even exist.

We installed these too but they don't attach to toilet or sink. We have them at our house in India, and we installed them on the wall with a diverter so we can set it to hot water.

The the PPs who haven't used them, they are very common in India in the newer or upscale houses/hotels. For places that don't have them built-in, they have a bucket of water and a cup to splash water on your butt!! No TP.

was that with the hose kind or the bowl type? I never totally got the hang of the bowl type either.

OP again. I’ve wanted a bidet since the first time I went to Europe 10 years ago. This crisis has given me motivation to finally get one. I’m amazed they haven’t caught on in the U.S. Its a completely different level of clean.

OP here. We ordered the hose kind, not the actual bowl shaped bidet. I’ve used both, and have no idea why the large bowl ones even exist. They offer no advantage that I can tell.

I've only ever used the handhelds (overseas in Europe and the Middle East). So that is what I bought. The Japanese toilet seats seem very futuristic.
