You should be fine. I was pregnant on the first try at age 36, 39 and on the second try at age 43!

I agree with this. I am in NYC, had COVID already and let me tell you, the fever was horrendous! 3 days straight of 103+ temperature. Not great for brain development in an embryo/fetus. I would delay by a month and reassess.

Is this at a DMV-area hospital, PP?
I'm due to give birth in a few weeks, and this is a huge concern of mine. I keep seeing people posting about how L&D is separate from most other parts of a hospital, nursing staffs are separate, etc...but I just don't see how they can guarantee that your delivery team is covid-free.
There are some very small studies coming out now that there is a possibility of vertical transmission from mother to fetus, but no indications that the illness is "severe" in those newborns.

My friend’s sister is a L&D nurse. She tested positive for COVID-19 along with 10+ nurses in the unit. I wouldn’t want to give birth before this situation is resolved.

I’m 37 and going for #3 and not delaying. My pregnancies have been complication free so while there is a risk this one could not be, I don’t think it’s enough of a risk to delay. It’ll likely still take me many many months to conceive (my first 2 did). I havent seen any data to make me think covid-19 is a particular threat to a healthy pregnant woman or baby

Lol ok. And you’re a jerk. Not sure how deciding to delay family planning due to a public heath crisis, and asking others if they’ve reached the same decision, makes me a drama queen. You’re the one stirring the pot on a trying to conceive board. Talk about throwing stones at glass houses.

Or even the state of the world. In the long term, a few months wait will not do anything but give you more options and less stress.

We've decided to keep trying. I'm almost 31, we don't know how long it will take, and the world will probably look very different in 10+ months. With so many variables, I'm going to er on the side of acting hopefully (as corny as that sounds)

We're really struggling with this too op. Ugh. I really don't want to risk dealing with the medical care system (what if I have a miscarriage?) when this thing potentially peaks. I also don't like the thought of having a baby in january or february of next year when this is potentially peaking again. On the other hand, I'm potentially home for many weeks coming up which would be nice for first trimester symptoms... and I'm 32. We're going to see how we feel in April.

i would wait because the current teleworking situation plus taking care of kids stuck at home makes me dead & stressful. They were supposed to be at daycare, but not anymore. It is not physically & mentally healthy for me to get pregnant at this moment with the fears of catching the virus.
