Antonin Scalia and his four Fed Soc fellow justices rolled back the gun laws DC wanted to use to prevent shootings.

My guess is that the majority were targeted and between people who knew each other. Social media and drugs play a significant role in these beefs that boil over and result in teenagers shooting each other in busy areas in broad daylight.
Example: https://www.popville.com/2020/02/15-year-old-arrested-dc-daytime-double-shooting-columbia-heights-last-month/
I think MPD and city council’s approach will only change when a white bystander is caught in the crossfire. Bowser seems too busy being a Bloomberg surrogate to address the uptrend in DC crime.

But but but but but DC's walkability score is off of the charts.![]()
Imagine living your life paralyzed by irrational fear to the point where being afraid of something that has a 0.0002% chance of happening (and an even smaller chance than that if you're not a drug dealer or gang member) is more important than something like walkability which has a guaranteed, direct, significant positive impact on your life literally every day.
I hope nobody shows you the statistics on how much more likely you are to die in a car crash because you have to drive everywhere living in the suburbs. You'll have to move to a bunker somewhere and never leave.
