I really don't want to commute to DC either but this is my reality. Where else can I find a home similar to this (or even a townhome) that is in a 'walkable' area in my budget? I'm open to MD/VA and if you can find DC-great ( highly doubt it-but great)
What about a townhome or small SFH in Rockville?

I googled "walkable areas in maryland" and Frederick came up as being a mini-DC. (not sure about that-but hey)
Is it diverse (age, ethnicity, etc)? I'm an AA female, single, 38
How are schools? I have a 4 year old son.
How is your commute into DC or other parts close to DC metro? I work in foggy bottom but have telework days so I can work my commute down (no car but would by a car)
I found this home, which is in my budget. Where else can I look to find something similar in this price range(no more than 380k) and "walkable"?

Frederick schools are not great.
Frederick is still super redneck. Try rockville instead.
These are such uninformed opinions. The schools in Urbana are rated as high as Rockville.
Okay so it's redneck in Frederick and murder capital in DC... pick one I guess.
? Rockville, Gaithersburg, nor Germantown -- top diverse small cities in the country -- are not murder capital of DC.
But no, Urbana schools are not rated very high. I think their top ranking school is ranked lower than Sherwood HS in MoCo. Not bashing Sherwood, but it's a middling school, and the top Urbana school is ranked lower.
