What happened with Bebe and Mai Ling? What did she think was going to happen when she dropped her baby off at the fire station?

No sympathy for Mia at all so far.

Kerry Washington is horrible in this. She seems to only have one note. and she's making the character so hateful.

I absolutely love the actress playing Izzy. She is nailing her sweet and dark sides.

You didn’t read it carefully then.

+1000

The TV version was announced just after I began reading it, so that probably informed my vision of the characters.

Did Bebe really storm into the party? I don’t remember.

I think she did. It's been years since I read it, but it seems familiar.

I went back to check my book and she didn’t . Mia found out about the baby and party from Lexie because she went to the party with her mother. She asked questions and thought it might be Bebe’s child. Then Bebe went to their house and was banging on their door.

Ah thank you. It must be the banging on the door I remember a big scene to kick the whole thing off.

The stage version was more dramatic and emotional. I don't love Kerry's acting but I think the tv version is so far better than the book regardless.

I don’t think so, if I remember correctly Mia wasn’t at the party, either. I think Bebe went to their house and was banging on their door and screaming.
I also agree with everyone else , that Mia in the book was much more sympathetic.

+1

The beauty of the book is how TORN you feel: you side with Elena, Mia, Linda, and Bebe all the same.

At least I did. I listened to the book and the narrator was fantastic; you’re really torn.

I concur with those who don’t care for Kerry Washington’s acting. I feel as is she swallowed a bottle of Valium before every scene. No affect whatsoever. It’s hard to root for her.

Are there only 4 episodes out? I thought it was going to be 8 episodes. When do the rest come out?
