I bet you are a joy to be around every day!

Necro bump this thread after Patriot beats Battlefield, again!

And since "a couple" FCV DA players are now playing with Battlefield again, won't that say something about how good those "couple" players are when they get beat by a bunch of ECNL players!

there are no FCV players with Battlefield again. Yes a few years ago the 3 girls played a year or two at FCV but they are all coming from VDA or BRYC

Sorry for a dumb question (little experience with sports). What are pro/con for playing travel vs High School soccer? Do colleges only recruit travel players? Any other considerations?

Boys or girls?

Boys. Thanks.

Many of the Boys will do both. DA is still the path for the most competitive D1 soccer programs, but a lot of D1,D2, and D3 Schools will look at boys primarily in travel clubs. If your not DA, you are more likely to have success with regional schools and their familiarity with your club. Most colleges are not really providing much weight/value to the HS teams. There are exceptions to the HS side when you are dealing with private/catholic schools but these are becoming more rare. Many of the local leagues and clubs accommodate HS by front loading or back loading games. From what I’ve seen, most boys will focus on HS during that season for the social/experience benefits, but still use the club team for training value. HS soccer is not great for development, but primarily focused on getting a bunch of disparate players jibing well enough to win games. One caution if pursuing both, overtraining is very real. Many HS teams will have a significant number of injured players on the bench during the season, and many club teams will he challenged to field full squads.

Thank you. Very helpful answer. DS played travel but now play HS due to multiple conflicts. Will look at more academic colleges (likely D3) and hopes to walk on if possible. Not aiming for soccer scholarship as such.

Is it that difficult to accept? There are 5-6 players on FCV DA teams that would create what Battlefield had when they won 3 straight. Unfortunately, they won't do that again, not with FCV DA 30 minutes away.

You’re a women?..And my comment still stands

And no, it’s not so difficult to except that a few FCV DA players will not be playing for Battlefield. Just like they won’t be playing for any other school. Just like the Arlington and Metro kids. By process of elimination, it’s a wash.

But wait..there’s more...

A couple of FCV DA players have returned. Seniors who are committed typically do that vs playing for the awful U18/19 division.

Now, let me educate you a little more.

VDA kids are spread throughout NOVA...just like FCV, Loudoun, BRYC, McLean, Arlington, etc.

Are you under the impression that they all go to one school?

Ok NPL/ECNL2 dad. We’ll see. Glad I don’t share a sideline with you!

Okay pathetic mom talking trash about high school girls. You’re a loser.
How do you know you don’t share the sidelines with me? Why dont you name your daughters team?

I’ll wait big mouth

My DD plays for one of the DAs.

And because of that, I know I don't share a sideline with you!

Have a nice day

And your DD is trash just like you.

I’m still waiting for that team big mouth

Oh boy. Internet tough guy!

Sounds like someone has a small willy!

Lord knows your probably an expert in determining that

Now....name your daughters team

Name the team

You mad!

Name your DD team!

What 'travel' have you been paying too much for?

FC Virginia. You?

Well that explains the hostility!

Go Patriot!
