I'm Irish and an Irish twin (sibling born, yes to my own biological mother, miraculously in some minds, 11 months and 2 weeks after I was born). This is the most awesome thread I've seen in I don't know how long.

Our first two were 16 months apart and #3 about 2 years later. We were certainly busy but it was fine.

No. I am an Irish twin. Older born at end of Feb. Younger born following year at beginning of Feb. It happens. That is an Irish twin. If they are 12 months, 1 day apart, not an Irish twin.

Check your math. 9+0 does not equal 18.

And while unusual, it is absolutely possible to have children less than 12 months apart. One "famous" example of this is Michelle Duggar, whose youngest two children are less than a year apart (one was born significantly premature.)

I've met other women who had babies less than a year apart. My husband is less than 13 months younger than is older brother--so they are NOT Irish twins, but if my husband had been born a few weeks early, they would have been.
